Each cover image - when read 'right way up' - leads to a series of photographs and word images that are read, by turning the book around, in either direction. The photos were found, together with the two poems, after my great-aunt Tina had died. They formed the basis of the two works: the book made collaboratively and printed at Beau Geste Press; and a film premiered at the Second International Festival of Avant-Garde Film, National Film Theatre, London. (See separate entry under Film). The image texts were made following an initial interpretation of the poems by Peter Foster-Marr. The authoring process took at random a 'translated' word from the poems and one of the photographs as the starting point for writing and maintained a loose narrative through each of the two accounts.
