BeschrijvingBord van Chinees porselein op voetring. Versierd in famille verte emailkleuren met een centraal vier-bladig motief, vier hartvormige cartouches gevuld met bamboe, pine en bloeiende prunus, onderling door banden verbonden, daartussen lotus bloemen in knop. Het geheel op een grond van groen lotusblad. Op de achterzijde van de wand golvende lotusblad motieven als een doorlopende band.
Hoewel het ontwerp niet typisch exotisch is, was het toch erg populair in Nederland. Imitaties waren er in vele variaties en kwal;iteiten op polychroom 18e eeuwse Delfts faience. Van deze zgn 'Hartenbordjes' zijn nog veel exemplaren in omloop. Het Chinese origineel is echter zeldzaam.
Dish on a footring, with spreading sides. Decorated in famille verte enamels with four lotus-leaf cartouches filled with prunus, pine or bamboo. In between four lotus buds and thin stems radiating from a circular band connecting the cartouches. In the centre a stylised floral motif. Placed on a ground of a green lotus leaf that fills the entire surface, the frayed outline visible at the rim of the dish.
Although not typically exotic, the design was apparently very popular in the Netherlands and was imitated in different variations and qualities on polychrome 18th-century Delft faience (ref.). These Delftware copies are still quite widespread; the original Chinese model is very rare.
