BeschreibungSchotel van Japans porselein op voetring met spreidende rand en zwaar gecraqueleerd glazuur. Op de onderkant zijn vier proenpunten in een vierkant. Het is versierd in onderglazuur blauw en emailkleuren met midden op het plat een bloempot omringd door een band van een doorlopende tak met prunusbloesems. De wand en rand zijn verdeeld in nauwe en brede takken in 'kraak'-stijl, de brede gevuld met bloeiende planten en de nauwe met geometrische patronen. Op de achterzijde is een doorlopende krulversiering van bloemen in rood, geel en blauw.
Dit stuk is interessant door de combinatie van onderglazuur blauw in 'kraak'-stijl en vroege Imari emailkleuren De kleurencombinatie van de krulversieringen van de achterzijde en de 'lichte' toets bij het schilderen van bladeren en bloemen doet nog altijd denken aan vroege emailstukken, 'early enamelled', en Kakiemon-stijl stukken. De dichte versiering, de combinatie van onderglazuur blauw en emails, en de band rond het midden, echter, lopen op de uiteindelijke Imari-stijl vooruit. Het gecraqueleerd glazuur is vergelijkbaar met dat van stukken in de vroege Kakiemon-stijl, zoals 1987.0261 en 1991.0017. Daarom kan deze schotel als overgangsstuk worden gezien.
Dish on footring, spreading rim. The glaze heavily crackled. on the base four spurmarks in a square pattern. decorated in underglaze blue and enamels. In the centre a flowerpot surrounded by a band of a continious branch of prunus blossoms. The sides and rim divided in wide and naroow panels in kraak style, the large panels filled with flowering plants, the small ones with geometrical patterns. The reverse has a continous flower scroll in red, green and yellow.
This is an interesting piece which combines the underglaze blue kraak style with the enamelling of the early Imari. The colour scheme of the scroll on the back and the 'light' way of painting the leaves and the flowers still reminds of the early enamelled and Kakiemon-style pieces, but the dense design, the combination of underglaze blue with enamels and the band in the centre forecast the mature Imari style. The crackled glaze can be compared to that of dishes in the early Kakiemon style. Altogether, this dish can be regarded as an intermediate peice.
