DescriptionBord van Chinees porselein op voetring met rond gebogen wand. Versierd in famille verte in diverse emailkleuren: groen, blauw, aubergine, geel, ijzerrood, lila en goud. Met een voorstelling van het rijstplanten op sawa's door vier boeren, terwijl twee onder een boom rusten.
De voorstelling is gebaseerd op een houtdruk uit het boek Gengzhi tu (akkerbouw en zijdeteelt in beeld). Hierin ook afbeeldingen van het rijstplanten, met boeren op de voorgrond. De rustende mannen zijn echter toegevoegd door de porseleinschilder.

In the foreground four farmers planting rice, another two resting beneath two trees in the background. On the base a square fu (good luck) mark in a double circle in underglaze blue.
The scene is based on a woodcut illustration in the Gengzhi tu (Illustrations of Tilling and Weaving, 1696), which includes depictions of different rice-planting scenes with farmers in the foreground. The resting men, however, were apparently added by the porcelain painter.
