TitleIneengedoken haas
Creatoronbekend
While animal figures are not uncommon in Japanese export porcelain, hares are a rare phonomenon, and of this model no other example is known to exist. In the West such figures were sought after as exotic elements to de corate the interior. Both in China and Japan the hare is associated with the moon and the elixer of eternal youth and thus symbolizes a long life.
